POSITION OVERVIEW: The Plant Accountant plays a crucial role in establishing the standard costs for all products manufactured at designated facilities. This position involves continuous monitoring and comparison of these costs against actual performance throughout the fiscal year. The individual will collaborate with corporate finance to develop comprehensive budgets and forecasts, while also identifying significant variances from previous projections. Additionally, this role may involve guiding clerical staff and team members regarding inventory management, payroll, and supply chain transactions, focusing on their financial implications.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
This role reports directly to the Plant Manager. Certain positions may oversee an Inventory Specialist, clerical personnel, and/or production staff. The Plant Accountant will work closely with corporate accounting, finance teams, and plant personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Fundamentals and methodologies of financial and manufacturing accounting.
- In-depth understanding of inventory accounting principles.
- Financial forecasting and budgeting techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP standards.
- Relevant Federal, State, and local regulations and laws.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Analyze and compare actual performance against budgeted figures.
- Facilitate cooperation through effective communication and persuasion.
- Identify, investigate, and analyze issues, proposing alternative solutions and forecasting potential outcomes.
- Collect, assess, and interpret data effectively.
- Organize, plan, and execute tasks efficiently.
- Utilize computer systems and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Exhibit behaviors aligned with Tree Top's performance management and development standards.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance, cost accounting, or operational financial management.
- Experience with ERP database systems is advantageous.
