Position Overview:

Serco North America is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance the operational readiness of U.S. Navy vessels. This role is pivotal for those committed to training naval personnel and ensuring the optimal condition of naval ships.

The Engineering Readiness Assist Team (ERAT) plays a crucial role in providing material evaluations and crew training to U.S. Navy ships stationed in various fleet concentration areas. ERAT members are instrumental in fostering effective engineering practices and maintaining high material standards, which are essential for successful inspections and operational assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive material evaluation support and crew training to U.S. Navy vessels.
  • Utilize a range of specialized tools and equipment, including 2M/MTR, air conditioning, refrigeration, and hull maintenance tools.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of damaged equipment or systems, providing detailed recommendations for necessary repairs.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of shipboard systems, repair capabilities, and relevant Navy protocols.
  • Develop and implement tailored training programs for ship crews, utilizing technical manuals and operational guidelines.
  • Provide training and process improvement recommendations to various levels of the shipboard command structure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or associate degree, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in delivering training and assessments at a senior technical level.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of Navy A and C schools, with expertise in relevant technical fields.
  • At least 20 years of Navy experience at the E-7 level or higher.
  • Experience in maintenance and training roles within Navy operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
