Job Overview

The Engineering Technician III is responsible for executing tasks that require a degree of discretion and adaptability. This role involves selecting and modifying established procedures or equipment based on applicable precedents. The technician receives initial guidance and equipment requirements from supervisors or engineers and is expected to work independently on recurring tasks. The quality of work is assessed for technical accuracy and adherence to guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The technician will engage in a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Component Construction: Building components, subunits, or basic models, as well as troubleshooting and rectifying equipment malfunctions.
  • Device Assembly: Following detailed layouts and scientific diagrams to assemble and package simple devices and equipment subunits.
  • Testing and Experimentation: Conducting tests or experiments that may require minor adjustments in setups or procedures, utilizing standard test equipment, and accurately recording data.
  • Data Compilation: Extracting and organizing engineering data from various sources, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and determining effective methods for data presentation.
  • Design Assistance: Aiding in design modifications by gathering relevant data concerning specifications and materials, and recognizing gaps in information to seek clarification.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Ability to provide technical support to engineers in areas such as research, design, development, testing, or process improvement.
  • Practical knowledge of science or engineering; some roles may necessitate familiarity with mathematics or computer science.
  • Experience in preparing design drawings and assisting with machinery and equipment modifications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hardware and software related to electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in supporting information systems operations.
Education and Clearance

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree in a relevant technical field is preferred.

Additional Information

Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential. The ability to collaborate with technical and management personnel at all levels is crucial.
