General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a prominent entity in the field of remotely piloted aircraft and advanced surveillance systems.
Position Summary:We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Composites Manufacturing Engineer to join our Aircraft Systems Group on the second shift. This role is integral to our projects, which focus on enhancing manufacturing processes, supporting program leadership, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and assist in various projects through detailed quantitative analysis within GA-ASI's product line.
- Oversee manufacturing operations including material cutting, lamination, curing, and assembly.
- Manage teams of Manufacturing Engineers and technicians to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and quality requirements.
- Utilize expertise in composite lamination operations and CNC machining.
- Develop and maintain lamination mold tooling and implement new manufacturing technologies.
- Conduct troubleshooting for design and production conflicts, promoting innovative methods and evaluating material requirements.
- Initiate Lean and Six Sigma projects aimed at improving quality and reducing costs.
- Document prototype and pilot builds, ensuring standardized work instructions are followed.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience. A master’s degree may substitute for some experience. Candidates should demonstrate extensive technical expertise in engineering principles and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience with advanced composites production operations is essential, along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A Professional Engineering License and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance are preferred.
Compensation:The salary range for this position is $81,080 - $141,650.
