Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize a mobile service vehicle to conduct field service operations on heavy machinery.
  • Inspect, repair, and adjust various types of construction equipment including graders, backhoes, and bulldozers.
  • Overhaul and tune diesel and gasoline engines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct valve grinding and transmission overhauls as necessary.
  • Replace and repair critical components such as pistons, crankshafts, and hydraulic systems.
  • Rebuild undercarriages and manage track changes and roller replacements.
  • Document daily activities and provide reports to management at the end of each week.
  • Assess machinery condition through inspections and diagnostic testing, identifying any worn or damaged parts.
  • Ensure equipment readiness by executing preventive maintenance and upgrades.
  • Address deficiencies by repairing, adjusting, and replacing major assemblies and systems.
  • Verify machine performance through test drives and system adjustments.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations regarding vehicle safety and emissions.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle service records and logs.
  • Control costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service options.
  • Enhance job knowledge through ongoing education and technical literature.
  • Perform annual inspections on trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnose issues and collaborate with management on cost-effective repair solutions.
  • Service vehicles and equipment, including routine oil changes and fluid maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as engines and transmissions.
  • Order necessary parts and supplies for repairs.
  • Adjust functional components of equipment as needed.
  • Operate and maintain the mobile service truck.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of personal tools required for the job.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are essential.
  • A valid Class A or B CDL is mandatory.
  • A clean driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
