Position Summary:


This role is primarily tasked with safeguarding the Resort's commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access by executing the following responsibilities personally or through team members.


Key Responsibilities:


The responsibilities outlined are ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and do not encompass all functions and duties performed by individuals in this role.

Key duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Successfully complete the Basic Security Officer Training Series.
- Conduct patrols throughout the resort, investigate and document any unusual incidents and safety concerns.
- Record, report, and follow up on safety hazards.
- Generate comprehensive incident and/or accident reports, ensuring timely submission.
- Complete necessary security documentation to record loss prevention, safety, and policy violations.
- During patrols, monitor for suspicious or undesirable individuals and ensure any trespassers are escorted off the property if necessary.
- Report all breaches of resort and company policy to the immediate supervisor or department head.
- Utilize proper radio communication protocols in accordance with Federal Communication Commission (FCC) regulations.
- Safeguard and adhere to resort procedures regarding master keys and access.
- Maintain thorough familiarity with the resort property and comply with all resort policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Monitor the resort's security systems and respond to any security breaches.
- Assist emergency response personnel during any resort emergencies and/or traffic management.
- Provide basic medical assistance to anyone injured on the property until emergency medical personnel arrive.
- Ensure accurate completion of all relevant logs.
- Maintain proper care and upkeep of Loss Prevention equipment and vehicles.
- Understand and comply with the Employee Handbook and the Resort's standard operating procedures.
- Read and comprehend the Safety Management guidelines.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Promote safe work practices and a secure work environment at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To excel in this position, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge and/or skills required.

Education and Experience:
Two (2) to four (4) months of relevant experience.

Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Certification in CPR and First Aid within six (6) months of hire.
Valid State of Hawaii Guard License.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of:
Fire and Life Safety systems.
Applicable laws, OSHA codes, and regulations.
Basic record-keeping practices and incident reporting.
Department policies and procedures.
Use of specific computer applications for word processing, queries, data entry, and/or standard report generation.
Proper business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Techniques for interacting with a diverse range of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, both in person and over the phone.


Skill in:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write basic routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and other employees of the Company.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to address problems involving several simple standardized situations.

Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may be exposed to fumes, humidity, and loud noise.

Additionally, the associate may be required to perform essential duties during adverse weather conditions.
