POSITION SUMMARY: The Culinary Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the preparation and delivery of meals on a regular basis for a significant number of individuals. This role is contingent upon funding availability. A valid driver's license is required, and the candidate must be able to comply with transportation security regulations.
The Culinary Operations Supervisor will demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be reflected in their professional conduct and representation of the organization.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least three years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Proficient in meal preparation and knowledgeable about balanced nutrition
- Ability to collaborate effectively with community professionals and diverse populations
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Understanding of The Salvation Army's standards, philosophy, and policies, with a willingness to adhere to them.
- Prepare large-scale, nutritionally balanced meals for a designated number of individuals.
- Oversee food preparation, service, and the cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, kitchen, pantries, freezers, and refrigerators.
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance in freezers and refrigerators.
- Responsible for the procurement of food and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health department regulations and safety protocols in all food storage and dining areas.
- Plan weekly menus and ensure that meal options are clearly communicated.
- Provide vegetarian options at every meal served.
- Complete all necessary reports for organizational and community food banks by the end of each month.
- Be prepared to handle meat preparation in emergency situations.
- Engage with community organizations, businesses, and churches to secure cooked meal donations.
- Collaborate with local food trucks to provide additional meal options.
- Prioritize partnerships with local culinary associations, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Verify that all meal donations comply with health department regulations.
- Solicit meals and food supplies for emergency disaster situations.
- Work with community organizations, churches, and clubs to recruit volunteers for meal services.
- Manage volunteer coordination during meal service.
- Ensure that all volunteer timesheets and mileage logs are accurately completed.
- Organize and recruit volunteers for special events.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer information and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Coordinate volunteer efforts during emergency disaster situations.
