POSITION SUMMARY: The Culinary Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the preparation and delivery of meals on a regular basis for a significant number of individuals. This role is contingent upon funding availability. A valid driver's license is required, and the candidate must be able to comply with transportation security regulations.

The Culinary Operations Supervisor will demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be reflected in their professional conduct and representation of the organization.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. At least three years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment
  3. Proficient in meal preparation and knowledgeable about balanced nutrition
  4. Ability to collaborate effectively with community professionals and diverse populations
  5. Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  7. Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
  8. Understanding of The Salvation Army's standards, philosophy, and policies, with a willingness to adhere to them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Prepare large-scale, nutritionally balanced meals for a designated number of individuals.
  2. Oversee food preparation, service, and the cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
  3. Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, kitchen, pantries, freezers, and refrigerators.
  4. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in freezers and refrigerators.
  5. Responsible for the procurement of food and kitchen supplies.
  6. Ensure compliance with health department regulations and safety protocols in all food storage and dining areas.
  7. Plan weekly menus and ensure that meal options are clearly communicated.
  8. Provide vegetarian options at every meal served.
  9. Complete all necessary reports for organizational and community food banks by the end of each month.
  10. Be prepared to handle meat preparation in emergency situations.
COORDINATION OF DONATED MEALS:
  1. Engage with community organizations, businesses, and churches to secure cooked meal donations.
  2. Collaborate with local food trucks to provide additional meal options.
  3. Prioritize partnerships with local culinary associations, ensuring all requirements are met.
  4. Verify that all meal donations comply with health department regulations.
  5. Solicit meals and food supplies for emergency disaster situations.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATION:
  1. Work with community organizations, churches, and clubs to recruit volunteers for meal services.
  2. Manage volunteer coordination during meal service.
  3. Ensure that all volunteer timesheets and mileage logs are accurately completed.
  4. Organize and recruit volunteers for special events.
  5. Maintain accurate records of volunteer information and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  6. Coordinate volunteer efforts during emergency disaster situations.
