Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to safeguard the resort's commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access by executing the following duties personally or through team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the Basic Security Officer Training Series successfully.
  • Conduct thorough patrols of the resort, investigating and documenting any unusual incidents or safety issues.
  • Report and follow up on safety hazards.
  • Prepare detailed incident and accident reports promptly.
  • Fill out necessary security forms to document loss prevention, safety, and policy violations.
  • Monitor for suspicious individuals during patrols and ensure trespassers are escorted off the property as needed.
  • Report all policy violations to the immediate supervisor or department head.
  • Utilize proper radio communication procedures in compliance with FCC regulations.
  • Safeguard and adhere to resort protocols regarding master keys and access.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the resort property and comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the resort's security systems and respond to any security breaches.
  • Assist emergency response teams during any resort emergencies or traffic management situations.
  • Provide basic medical assistance to injured individuals until professional medical help arrives.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all relevant logs.
  • Maintain the care and upkeep of Loss Prevention equipment and vehicles.
  • Understand and comply with the Employee Handbook and standard operating procedures.
  • Review and comprehend Safety Management guidelines.
  • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Promote safe work practices and a secure work environment at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Education and Experience: Two to four months of relevant experience.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; certification in CPR and First Aid within six months of hire; valid State of Hawaii Guard License.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of:

  • Fire and Life Safety systems.
  • Applicable laws, OSHA codes, and regulations.
  • Basic record-keeping practices and incident reporting.
  • Department policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in specified computer applications for word processing, data entry, and report generation.
  • Proper business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Effective communication techniques for interacting with diverse individuals.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
  • Ability to address problems involving standardized situations.

Work Environment:

In this role, the associate typically works outdoors and may encounter varying weather conditions, including exposure to fumes, humidity, and loud noises. Additionally, essential duties may need to be performed during inclement weather.
