As a Fuel Operations Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Receiving and dispatching various fuel types, including jet fuel, gasoline, diesel, avgas, and glycol through pipelines and trucks.
- Conducting quality control tests and inspections, along with basic maintenance on facilities, fueling systems, and vehicles.
- Assisting quality control technicians with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical reports, as well as preventative maintenance of equipment at fuel storage facilities.
- Monitoring storage tanks and pipelines to ensure optimal operation and prevent spills, overfills, and contamination.
- Performing routine inspections in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
- Executing all tasks safely, adhering to industry and governmental safety policies and procedures.
- Documenting fuel transactions, quality control measures, and maintenance activities accurately.

Key ResponsibilitiesThis role involves essential functions that may be performed in various environmental conditions, including precipitation, extreme temperatures, and exposure to aircraft-related noise and fumes. Tasks will be conducted both indoors and outdoors near operational aircraft.
- Regularly standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and communicating effectively.
- Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Safely operating company equipment.
- Performing physically demanding tasks such as top gauging and sampling storage tanks.
- Climbing stairways to access storage tanks (approximately 75 stairs – 40' high).
- Quickly opening and closing large valves on pipelines.
- Calculating various figures related to fuel transactions and inventory management.
- Reading, writing, and fluently communicating in English.
- Interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Effectively communicating in group settings.
- Applying common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats.
- Addressing problems involving standardized situations.
- Wearing the prescribed uniform and insignia.
- Reporting to work consistently and punctually.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:
- A high school diploma or GED, along with one year of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum age of 18 years.
- The ability to pass background checks, drug tests, and maintain an airport security badge.
- Legal authorization to work in the country of employment.
- A valid state driver's license.
- Successful completion of the company's training program.
Compensation for this position varies based on several factors, including skills, education, shift, responsibilities, seniority, geographical market, and prior experience. The pay range for this role is $21.00 to $24.57 per hour.
