The Merced County Office of Education plays a pivotal role in supporting the educational framework of Merced County's 20 school districts. This includes oversight and enhancement of curriculum and instruction, alternative education programs, business services, early childhood education, technology integration, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing.

Guided by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education, MCOE serves as a central hub for fostering partnerships among local schools, government entities, and community organizations.


Position Overview

Under the supervision of the school administrator, the selected candidate will deliver effective classroom instruction tailored to students at a designated school site.

This role involves implementing an educational program for students who qualify for Special Education, as determined by the Individual Education Program (IEP) Team.

Additional responsibilities include consulting, coordinating, staff development, parent education, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

This position is part of the certificated bargaining unit and adheres to the terms outlined in the union agreement regarding membership and associated fees.



Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Background:
BA/BS Degree

Credentials and Skills:


Valid California single subject teaching credential in core academic areas or a multiple subject teaching credential with verification in core academic areas. Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a mild-moderate special education setting. Valid English Language Learner authorization. A valid California driver's license and the minimum amount of liability insurance required by law. DMV drivers printout is also required.

Experience:
Experience in an educational environment focused on academic development is essential.
