The Merced County Office of Education plays a pivotal role in supporting the 20 school districts within Merced County. Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Coordinator of the Special Education Department, the Preschool Special Education Instructor is responsible for educating students with severe disabilities using a structured curriculum. This role involves collaboration with specialists, parents, and agency representatives to address the educational and personal needs of the students. Additionally, the instructor will oversee and assess the performance of instructional aides and/or teaching assistants assigned to the program. This position is part of the certificated bargaining unit.
Qualifications and Requirements

4) All college transcripts (from both junior college and university) along with a copy of the degree.
5) A copy of your California credential(s) authorizing service in this area(s).
Educational Background:
A BA/BS Degree with relevant coursework to qualify for a credential to teach preschool students with severe disabilities.
Credentials and Skills:
Must hold or qualify for a California teaching credential that permits the instruction of severely disabled students, including Preschool Authorization or Early Childhood Special Education. Proof of English Learner Authorization, CBEST, and CSET scores (or equivalent) must be provided. A valid California driver's license and the minimum required liability insurance are mandatory. A DMV H-6 printout is also required.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience working with children with special needs is required.
