Job Overview

UF Health Regional Network is actively seeking to recruit multiple Nighthawk Medical Practitioners.

The Nighthawk Medical Practitioners are responsible for delivering and overseeing direct patient care, which encompasses physical assessments, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for a designated patient demographic. Responsibilities are performed in-house and during overnight shifts.

Deliver comprehensive clinical patient care and services aligned with their area of expertise, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, preventive care, and health maintenance for patients at UF Health Regional Network clinical facilities.
Conduct thorough evaluations in-person to ensure compliance with ASA perioperative standards for patients scheduled for surgical procedures, including meticulous review of medical notes, cardiology, and other specialty referrals, as well as necessary laboratory tests and studies to confirm patient readiness for surgery at least 48 hours prior.
At the commencement of each shift, take charge of designated operating rooms to provide relief for departing physicians and initiate preoperative assessments for inpatients scheduled for surgery the following day.
At the conclusion of each shift, be present as necessary in the preoperative clinic and the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to guarantee patient readiness for surgery; prepare patients for regional anesthesia blocks; and provide a status update to the board runner before the end of the shift.
Collaborate effectively with members of the healthcare team, including pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nursing personnel.
Review incoming medical reports (e.g., laboratory results, imaging studies, EKGs) and follow up promptly.
Prescribe medications, treatment regimens, and other therapeutic interventions as appropriate based on assessed medical conditions.
Refer patients to specialists and relevant components of patient care as necessary.
May oversee the daily operations of a specific medical program or patient care unit.
Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as continuous quality improvement initiatives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Participate in specified health promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate to the role.
Engage in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical and operational meetings as requested.
Assist in the revision of protocols and principles of practice as needed.

Expected Salary:

$435,000

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be licensed to practice medicine in accordance with applicable state statutes, plus four years of relevant experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Specialty License or Certification; Board certified or Board Eligible in a specified area of medical specialty; Certification/Licensure in the state and Federal DEA Certification.
