Advanced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Role Summary:
- Conducts thorough assessments and manages patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Develops a comprehensive care plan in collaboration with patients and their families to optimize health outcomes.
- Prescribes and recommends medications and treatments, performing procedures within the authorized scope of practice for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- Encourages patient engagement in their healthcare decisions by providing essential information and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
- Works as an integral member of the healthcare team, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintains accurate patient records in the electronic medical record system, adhering to compliance and confidentiality standards.
- Collects and interprets diagnostic data, including laboratory and imaging results, to inform clinical decisions.
- Operates within the established scope of practice for APRNs.
- Provides health education and connects patients and families with community resources.
- Contributes to the development and enhancement of healthcare programs and initiatives.
- Engages in patient care under research protocols, explaining study requirements and ensuring compliance.
- Facilitates informed consent processes and identifies suitable candidates for research participation.
- Conducts medical evaluations, applying specialized knowledge to assess treatment responses and recommend further actions.
- Ensures quality assurance in documentation and adherence to research protocols.
- Assists research coordinators with data collection and serves as a resource for research activities.
- Acts as an advocate for patient safety and well-being.
Compensation:
$90,000 to $110,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in nursing or a related health field. Must be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with applicable state regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree with specialized training as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.
- Experience in an outpatient care environment is preferred.
- Experience with HIV care is advantageous.
- Experience working with both pediatric and adult populations is preferred.
