Job Overview

The Front Desk Manager serves as the pivotal management figure within the Front Office, overseeing Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities. This role necessitates a collaborative approach with all hotel departments, prioritizing guest service and satisfaction. A key focus will be the supervision of all front office personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions include:
  • Core Duties:
    • Act autonomously as MOD, managing morning and evening shifts.
    • Oversee all front office staff, including front desk, communication, uniform services, and concierge.
    • Provide MOD assistance to other departments as required.
    • Champion the Travel pass initiative.
    • Disseminate meeting minutes and facilitate Manager's Meetings.
    • Manage VIP arrivals and conduct VIP escorts.
    • Serve as a Lobby Ambassador.
    • Monitor and address in-house guest challenges.
    • Resolve guest-related concerns.
    • Coordinate with other departments to guarantee guest satisfaction.
    • Assist with post-stay guest follow-ups.
    • Conduct property rounds.
    • Represent Front Office during Pre-Cons.
    • Oversee and coordinate concierge requests.
    • Conduct site tours of the hotel.
  • Deliver Exceptional Service:
    • Demonstrate a genuine passion for guest care, recognizing individual needs and striving to exceed expectations.
    • Consistently embody our GUEST model:
      • Greet everyone warmly with a smile.
      • Use eye contact and the guest's name.
      • Establish and anticipate needs.
      • Solve and take ownership of all requests and complaints.
      • Thank every guest.
  • Foster Positive Relationships:
    • Uphold respect and dignity among colleagues.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Other tasks may be assigned as needed to support hotel operations.
Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must possess the following qualifications and demonstrate relevant experience:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding guest or client experiences.
  • Strong communication skills essential for training, safety, and guest interactions.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Familiarity with Opera and internet software preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Capability to effectively present information in small group settings.
  • Bi-lingual communication skills are advantageous.
Physical Requirements

While performing job duties, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate. Frequent use of hands for handling and reaching is necessary. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

The characteristics of the work environment typically encountered while performing essential functions of this role include moderate noise levels.
