Position Overview:
- Full-time role: Friday to Monday, swing shift
- 4/10 schedule
- Assessing and prioritizing incoming patients
- Supporting veterinarians with patient evaluations, treatments, and procedures
- Collaborating with the care team on treatment strategies, client communication, and nursing care issues
- Educating clients on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized pets
- Monitoring and providing nursing care for inpatients
- Inducing and overseeing anesthesia and sedation processes
- Conducting organized rounds, discussing cases, and gathering necessary information
- Performing in-house lab tests and preparing samples for external testing
- Compensation Details:
- RVT: $40.00 per hour
- SVA: $36.00 per hour
- Hiring Bonuses: $8,000 for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $6,000 for Veterinary Assistants in overnight roles; $7,000 for RVTs and $5,000 for SVAs in swing shift roles; $6,000 for RVTs and $4,000 for SVAs in day shift roles.
- Shift differentials: $3/hour for swing shifts, $5/hour for overnight shifts
Candidate Profile:
- You are a Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant with strong communication abilities and a knack for thriving in fast-paced settings. You maintain composure in high-pressure situations and embody trustworthiness and teamwork.

- You are dedicated to delivering outstanding client service and exceptional patient care, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years as a Senior Veterinary Assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff and clients, demonstrating patience, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for medication dosages, client invoices, and other relevant calculations
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60 days of hire unless holding a valid CA-RVT license
