Position Overview:
  • Full-time role for Friday to Monday swing shift
  • 4/10 schedule
  • Triage incoming patients effectively
  • Assist veterinarians with patient evaluations, treatments, and procedures
  • Collaborate with the patient care team on treatment strategies, client communication, and nursing care issues
  • Educate clients on home care instructions, medication information (including indications and potential side effects), and general wellness updates for hospitalized pets
  • Monitor and provide nursing care for hospitalized animals
  • Induce and oversee general anesthesia and sedation procedures
  • Conduct organized rounds, document cases, and gather necessary information
  • Perform in-house laboratory tests and prepare samples for external laboratory analysis
  • Compensation Details:
  • RVT: $40.00 per hour
  • SVA: $36.00 per hour
  • $8,000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $6,000 Hiring Bonus for Veterinary Assistants (for full-time, new hires) in overnight roles.
  • $7,000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $5,000 Hiring Bonus for Veterinary Assistants in swing shift roles.
  • $6,000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $4,000 Hiring Bonus for day shift roles.
  • Shift differentials available: $3/hour for swing shift, $5/hour for overnight shift

Candidate Profile:
  • You are a Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant with strong communication abilities and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment. You maintain composure in stressful situations while being motivated, trustworthy, and a team player.
  • You seek an opportunity to leverage your full skill set while also learning new and advanced techniques.
  • You are dedicated to providing excellent client service, superior patient care, and making a meaningful impact.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years of experience as a Senior Veterinary Assistant
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality
  • Reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for medication dosages, client invoices, and other relevant calculations
  • Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60 days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if the incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)

Our compensation ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
