Fish and Wildlife Conservation Specialist

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill a Scientific Aid position in the Habitat Conservation Program. This role is located at the North Central Region headquarters in Rancho Cordova, CA, offering a unique opportunity to work in a scenic and environmentally conscious setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the Habitat Conservation Program's Lake and Streambed Alteration, California Endangered Species Act, and California Environmental Quality Act programs and projects.
- Review and summarize project study results, working with program staff to consolidate information on protection, mitigation, and enhancement measures.
- Support scientific staff by performing preliminary reviews of received LSA Notifications, CESA Take Applications, and CEQA Documents.
- Participate in HabCon field meetings, biological and habitat surveys, investigations, and data collection, as necessary.
This position is primarily an office position, requiring the ability to use a computer keyboard for several hours each day, complete office tasks, and attend meetings and conference calls. Occasional travel within the state of California may be required, including overnight stays. A valid California driver's license is required to drive on official state business.
Requirements:Must be able to complete training necessary to fulfill job description. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
