Fish and Wildlife Recruitment Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Classification and Recruitment team at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. As a Recruitment Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting hiring supervisors in recruiting for critical positions in support of managing California's diverse fish, wildlife, and plant resources, and the habitats upon which they depend, for their ecological values and for their use and enjoyment by the public.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide recruitment consultations to hiring supervisors and employees
- Review and approve Human Resources recruitment transactions, including hiring above minimum and confirmation of minimum qualifications to determine eligibility for candidates
- Assist with developing recruitment plans and analyzing justifications and other hiring paperwork
- Support the development of recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent
This position works in a high-rise building when in-office and involves working on a computer/ the ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day, i.e., working at a computer most of the time. Attendance at virtual and in-person meetings and working groups as necessary is required. This position is eligible for telework consistent with CDFW's current telework policy.
