Job Title: Senior Personnel Specialist

Job Summary:

The Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking a highly skilled Senior Personnel Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Payroll and Personnel Section, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of personnel and payroll transactions and leave administration. This role requires a high level of expertise and independence in researching complex personnel and payroll problems and recommending solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform all aspects of personnel and payroll transactions and leave administration
* Research and resolve complex personnel and payroll problems
* Function as a lead over lower-level staff
* Act as the assigned coordinator of various personnel and payroll programs

Working Conditions:

This position is headquartered in our state-of-the-art high-rise building in downtown Sacramento. The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. Ability to use a computer/laptop and telephone is essential.

Requirements:

* Transfer eligibility or passing the Senior Personnel Specialist exam
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
