About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Mechanic Senior to join our team at Clean Harbors. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of skilled general maintenance, repair, and modification of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and efficiency of our equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues: Use your technical expertise to identify and resolve problems with our machinery and equipment.
  • Assemble and Install Equipment: Follow blueprints and instructions to assemble and install new equipment and systems.
  • Lead and Mentor Junior Personnel: Provide guidance and support to junior maintenance staff to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3-5 Years Maintenance Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a plant or industrial maintenance environment is preferred.
  • Plant Maintenance Experience: Experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanically inclined, strong troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, hydraulic/pneumatics, boilers, installations, fabrication, and welding.
  • Pumps Experience: Experience with positive displacement and diaphragm pumps is an asset.
  • Familiarity with 480v: Familiarity with 480v systems is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting PLCs: Experience with troubleshooting PLCs is preferred.
  • Self-Motivated and Team-Oriented: A self-motivated and team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and ability to follow direction and take initiative.
  • Permit Writing Experience: Experience with permit writing is preferred.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: A continuous learning mindset with a strong desire to learn and improve skills and knowledge.
  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to Meet Physical Demands: Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50lbs and performing movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and manipulating and handling objects.
  • Clean and Valid Driver's License: A clean and valid driver's license is required.
