Position Summary
This position is tailored for recent graduates or medical laboratory scientists with limited professional experience. Under close supervision, you will conduct intricate analyses on diverse sample types while maintaining meticulous records to ensure accurate test results. You will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for upholding quality, efficiency, and safety in laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities outline the essential functions of this role:
- Conduct waived, moderate, and high complexity testing utilizing both manual and automated methodologies while adhering to all regulatory standards.
- Identify and rectify issues related to testing procedures, patient results, and specimen integrity, seeking assistance when necessary.
- Review and document quality control measures, assessing the acceptability of testing outcomes and instrument performance through daily QA/QC practices.
- Prepare reagents and controls, and process samples for additional testing (e.g., embedding, extractions, staining).
- Assist in managing inventory based on departmental requirements.
- Participate in mandatory training and educational sessions relevant to the department.
- Address clinical and customer inquiries with confidentiality and professionalism, seeking guidance as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and verify the accuracy of laboratory results.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, basic sciences, or a related field is required. Candidates must be eligible for certification by a recognized national program, such as ASCP or its equivalent, and must obtain certification within the specified timeframe.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
