Medical Laboratory Scientist III

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist III to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex analyses on various sample types, utilizing independent judgment to generate accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced laboratory tests and procedures, including routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
- Lead by example, mentoring and training junior staff members to ensure high-quality results.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, developing and implementing processes to enhance regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the need for new services, equipment, and procedures.
- Develop and lead training programs for new employees, ensuring they achieve and maintain required competencies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field, or an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, basic sciences, or a related field, with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience, with a preference for those with a Bachelor's degree.
- ASCP certification or equivalent.
