Base salary begins at $15.73/hr.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enforces security policies and procedures effectively.
- Coordinates security measures in a calm and professional manner as needed.
- Monitors the Emergency Department, providing support to medical and nursing staff with uncooperative, non-compliant, and combative patients.
- Assists ED Nursing and admitting staff in ensuring security during patient registration and medical procedures.
- Conducts patrols and reports any unusual or suspicious activities.
- Responds to emergency codes and maintains composure during crisis situations.
- Checks alarm systems and documents security conditions through electronic status posts.
- Implements proper hospital opening and closing procedures at designated times, including mechanical room inspections for safety.
- Monitors weather conditions during winter months to assess the need for staff mobilization for snow removal.
- Issues parking tickets/stickers for violations.
- Oversees security camera operations.
- Conducts fire drills during shifts.
- Completes scheduled preventative maintenance work orders.
- Responds promptly to all codes as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- This position requires approximately six (6) weeks of training.
- Must possess current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain it within 60 days of hire, maintaining credentials throughout employment.
- Must complete a de-escalation program approved by IMH within 90 days of hire and recertify annually.
- Must hold a current, valid Wyoming driver's license and be eligible for IMH liability insurance.
- Working knowledge of security enforcement methods typically acquired through one year of security experience.
- Excellent customer service skills, characterized by a friendly demeanor, tact, patience, empathy, and a professional attitude both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, managers, and the public, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrates strong listening skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Possesses strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently without immediate supervision.
- Capable of learning new software programs.
- Ability to recognize and safeguard confidential information.
- Demonstrates ethical and legal accountability in the role.
