Job Title: Food Safety Quality Assurance Supplier Compliance Specialist

Welcome to Gordon Food Service, a leading food distributor committed to excellence in quality and safety. We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety Quality Assurance Supplier Compliance Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Food Safety Quality Assurance Supplier Compliance Specialist will be responsible for leading our supplier community engagement and driving accountability for compliance to food safety and quality expectations and company goals. This role will participate in cross-functional teams and projects to provide support, expertise, and solutions on supplier expectations and engagement to drive value to the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the GFS Food Safety Supplier audit program, including regulatory compliance programs for foreign suppliers.
  • Coordinate, develop, and execute responses and/or reporting for supplier food safety-related projects and requests.
  • Share primary responsibility for executing product recalls during and after business hours and on weekends.
  • Lead the development of the supplier compliance program, including the Supplier Assessment program, Private brand supplier third-party audit program, and Foreign supplier verification programs to ensure accountability and compliance to regulatory and GFS standards.
  • Ensure the adequacy of programs, identifying and driving opportunities for continuous improvement and a broadened North American scope.
Requirements:
  • Three to five years of previous experience in quality assurance, quality control, and/or food safety is required.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, quality control process management, and data reporting/analysis is preferred.
  • Certification in Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), HACCP, GFSI is preferred.
  • Strong math aptitude, including the ability to perform statistical analysis.
  • Detail-oriented and display good project management and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with swift change in daily routine to address urgent matters.
