Position Overview

The Human Resources Specialist will oversee daily operations within the HR department for the designated business unit. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures while providing support to HR leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and local management on recruitment efforts, including scheduling interviews and managing applicant tracking systems.
  • Conduct thorough background checks and verify employee eligibility.
  • Facilitate employment verification processes.
  • Support the HR team in new employee onboarding and recognition initiatives.
  • Handle various HR administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, supporting training and development, managing benefits inquiries, coordinating leave, and overseeing attendance.
  • Act as a liaison between operational management and HR to ensure effective communication.
  • Disseminate HR-related updates and essential information to all staff members.
  • Address employment-related questions from candidates, employees, and supervisors, directing complex issues to the appropriate HR personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, while reviewing policies for compliance.
  • Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in human resources and employment law.
  • Assist in managing performance evaluations.
  • Support investigations related to employee conduct.
  • Contribute to safety training compliance and tracking efforts.
  • Oversee recruitment incentives, including referral and sign-on bonuses.
  • Promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a human resources role.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
