JOB ANNOUNCEMENT


The Utah County Assessor's office is tasked with the classification of all properties within the county; in collaboration with the Recorder's office, linking ownership to the properties; determining a taxable value for all properties subject to taxation; and compiling this data into reports utilized by the Auditor's office for tax rate calculations and the Treasurer's office for collections.

Position: Commercial Appraisal Officer

The Opportunity:


Under the general supervision of the Chief Deputy - County Assessor, this role involves coordinating training and development for commercial appraisal trainees.

Responsibilities include organizing and executing tasks related to Board of Equalization procedures, defending property valuations, and representing the County in local and state hearings.

Starting Pay: Grade 728 Step A: $82, Step G: $94,764.80 Annually

Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) years of appraisal experience, including two (2) years as a Certified General Appraiser.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Applicants must hold certification as a Certified General Appraiser with the Utah State Department of Commerce.
  • Incumbents must obtain the General Ad Valorem Appraiser designation with the Utah State Tax Commission within twenty-four (24) months of employment.
  • Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment.
  • Selected candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
