Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to support customers with their healthcare needs by accurately dispensing medications, delivering clinical services, and providing exceptional customer care while overseeing pharmacy staff. Independent decision-making is crucial in this position. All responsibilities outlined here are to be executed in alignment with the core values and service principles that define the Rite Aid brand.

Key Responsibilities

The associate will be accountable for the following tasks, along with any additional duties as assigned:

  • Ensure the precision and suitability of all filled prescriptions by conducting Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance, adhering to state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Drive business growth and prescription volume through recommended clinical initiatives, including immunization programs and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) when applicable.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing medical inquiries and providing healthcare guidance.
  • Supervise the activities of support staff during shifts.
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and managing pharmacy associates, and assume overall management responsibilities as required.
  • Maintain the security of the pharmacy department.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and all relevant federal and state laws.
  • Resolve customer issues and inquiries to foster trust and loyalty.
  • Engage with healthcare providers and utilize reference materials to gather information regarding customers and prescriptions, addressing any arising issues.
  • Help maintain an organized and clean pharmacy environment.
  • Prioritize tasks within the pharmacy department and ensure timely completion of all responsibilities, including inventory management and customer communications.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work varied hours to meet business needs.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Pharmacy or a Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.).
  • Immunization Certification from an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing in the relevant state.
