Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced nursing faculty member to join our team at Lee College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the nursing program, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in program evaluation and scholarly activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor students in the nursing program, promoting student success and retention.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum.
  • Participate in the development of course schedules and nursing program policies.
  • Plan and provide learning experiences for students based on program objectives and outcomes.
  • Utilize innovative teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.
  • Provide students with direction for utilizing educational resources and participate in course and program evaluations.
  • Attend and participate in course team meetings, nursing faculty meetings, and departmental and institutional service.
  • Assist with developing test questions, blueprints, and analysis of items in compliance with program policies.
  • Provide direct supervision of students practicing in a clinical area and ensure students are competent in nursing skills and procedures.
  • Grade written work and enter grades in a timely manner, keeping accurate records of students' attendance, progress, and performance.
Requirements
  • Master's (or higher) degree in Nursing.
  • Current license or privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching nursing at the postsecondary level.
