Nursing Faculty Job Description

Lee College is seeking a highly qualified Nursing Faculty member to join our team. As a Nursing Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the nursing program. You will contribute to curriculum development, participate in program evaluation, and engage in scholarly activities. The faculty member will also provide academic advising and support to students, as well as participate in departmental and institutional service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student success and retention.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum.
  • Plan and provide learning experiences for students based on program objectives/outcomes.
  • Utilize innovative teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.
  • Provide students with direction for utilizing all available educational resources.
  • Participate in course and program evaluations regularly as required by accrediting bodies.
  • Attend and participate in course team meetings and nursing faculty meetings.
Requirements:
  • Master's (or higher) degree in Nursing.
  • Current license or privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching nursing at the postsecondary level.
