Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Full-Time Faculty, Associate Degree Nursing to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the nursing program, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in program evaluation and scholarly activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student success and retention.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum.
  • Plan and provide learning experiences for students based on program objectives/outcomes.
  • Utilize innovative teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.
  • Provide students with direction for utilizing all available educational resources.
  • Participate in course and program evaluations regularly as required by accrediting bodies.
  • Attend and participate in course team meetings and nursing faculty meetings.
  • Assist with developing test questions, blueprints, and analysis of items in compliance with program policies.
  • Provide direct supervision of students practicing in a clinical area.
  • Ensure students are competent in nursing skills and procedures before implementing them in hands-on patient care.
  • Grade written work required of students and enter grades in a timely manner.
  • Keep an accurate record of students' attendance, progress, and performance.
  • Serve as a mentor to new faculty as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's (or higher) degree in Nursing.
  • Must hold a current license or privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be computer proficient.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching nursing at the postsecondary level.
