Hiring for a Group Sales Manager at DTLA Proper Hotel

DTLA Proper Hotel is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Group Sales Manager to join our team. As a key role, you will be responsible for maximizing group bookings, cultivating relationships with key clients, and consistently meeting and exceeding revenue goals.

About the Job:

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
  • Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Pursue new group sales opportunities, focusing on corporate, social, and event clientele
  • Conduct in-person and virtual sales presentations to clients, showcasing the property's amenities and services
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that align with the hotel's revenue and occupancy goals

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to foster repeat business and drive brand loyalty
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all group bookings, from initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up
  • Maintain regular communication with existing clients to identify potential new booking opportunities

Market Analysis & Strategy:

  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and local market developments to proactively adjust sales strategies
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to identify and target new markets, including corporate, incentive, and special interest groups
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create sales collateral and promotional materials that effectively communicate our brand and unique offerings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in group sales within a luxury or boutique hotel environment
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
  • Knowledge of CRM and hotel sales software (such as Opera, Delphi, or Salesforce)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and accountability
