Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Engineer to lead and manage traffic engineering activities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on transportation infrastructure projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage traffic engineering activities, including coordinating traffic studies and providing expert guidance on transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish a cohesive, integrated system and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Develop and implement traffic management and control plans, detours, signing, marking, and traffic studies for DOTs, Counties, and cities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning with proven project management expertise.
  • Knowledge of design techniques for developing solutions for engineering problems.
  • Experience with developing traffic management and control plans, detours, signing, marking, and traffic studies for DOTs, Counties, and cities.
  • Familiarity with MnDOT design standards.
  • Experienced with traffic safety analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, traffic modeling software, and transportation planning methodologies.
  • Proficient with Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS software. Vissim modeling is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ITS, traffic signals.
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Master's degree.
