In this pivotal role, you will spearhead hydraulic and drainage design modeling and analysis for various transportation initiatives. Your expertise will be essential in guiding our Water Resources Practice, overseeing project designs, and mentoring team members. Your primary focus will be on transportation and roadway engineering projects, where effective communication with clients and internal teams is vital. You will represent Rani Engineering LLC with professionalism in all engagements.

Our Water Resources Team is committed to fostering safe, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing communities. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated and capable of applying their engineering and water resource expertise across diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive design calculations
  • Engage in preliminary layout, modeling, and final design phases
  • Research and compile drainage reports, risk assessments, permits, and feasibility studies
  • Lead water resource design initiatives, including modeling and plan development
  • Create specifications, cost estimates, and quantity take-off assessments
  • Ensure the quality of drainage designs, models, plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and stormwater facilities design
  • Manage water resource tasks to align with project deliverables, timelines, and budgetary constraints
  • Build strong relationships with clients and personnel from various agencies
  • Mentor junior staff members
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, focusing on Water Resources or a related field
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant engineering experience post-graduation
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, or eligibility to obtain within six months
  • Proficiency in hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software and principles of water resource engineering
  • Understanding of Stormwater Management, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Culvert and BMP design, SWPPP design, and Erosion and Sediment Control techniques
  • Familiarity with Bentley products and strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
  • Experience in Project Management and familiarity with Midwest Department of Transportation Projects
  • Knowledge or experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil3D
