The Civil Engineer - Project Lead will work with project teams on civil engineering and related technical assignments. This position generally aligns with the renewable energy sector and power delivery, with the option of branching into other sectors as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of civil design and assist clients with the development of wind and solar projects.
- Provide guidance to entry-level staff in the preparation of construction documents, site evaluations, feasibility studies, road design, grading, stormwater design, and other tasks.
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain certification within one year.
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, as well as intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD-based civil design software.
- Experience with GIS-based software.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr Engineering Company.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Experience with preparation of plans and specifications, analyzing alternatives, and developing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Construction administration experience, such as review and response to payment applications, submittals, and claims, and interpreting plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Experience drafting PowerPoint presentations, memos, and report text and figures.
- 15 or more years of related work experience.
This position requires the ability to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities.
Compensation and BenefitsThe anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000-95,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
