Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our Mill Operations team. This salaried position will work closely with superintendents, shift supervisors, and operations and maintenance teams to oversee the daily and nightly operation of the mill.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise hourly union employee workforce to ensure safe and consistent operation of the facility.
  • Resolve shift crew staffing issues, oversee crew training, development, and guidance.
  • Monitor production operations and report on daily activities (both oral and written).
  • Provide daily manufacturing process support and problem-solving to improve production efficiency, including troubleshooting, decision-making, data management, and analysis.
  • Work with superintendents to improve processes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs while maintaining environmental compliance and protection.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or other Technical field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem-solve, and execute solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
  • Proficient project management and organizational skills with experience preparing oral and written shift reports.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of pulp & paper manufacturing or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Additional Information:

  • The Production Supervisor - Shift Operations is a salaried position with a pay range of $65k to $85k per year depending on experience and education.
