Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a PRN Clinical Nurse II to deliver independent and professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory surgery and endoscopy setting, adhering to established medical and nursing protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care in an endoscopy environment, utilizing relevant systems and following physician directives.
- Collect and evaluate patient data across various stages of endoscopy, including pre-operative, procedural, and recovery phases.
- Develop nursing care plans, assess the effectiveness of care provided, and document patient responses accurately.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff, including patient care technicians.
- Maintain a safe and organized care environment, ensuring all equipment and supplies are in order.
- Engage in continuous professional development by maintaining competencies in essential areas such as Point of Care Testing and Moderate Sedation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to team meetings and training sessions.
- Assist in the collection and processing of pathology specimens as needed.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a degree from an accredited nursing program (BSN or Associate's Degree) and hold a valid nursing license. Candidates without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing will be required to enroll in a BSN program within two years of employment and complete it within five years. A minimum of twelve months of relevant clinical experience is necessary, although exceptional new graduates may be considered.
Work Schedule:
PRN employees have the flexibility to block out up to eight dates per scheduling period, including vacation and other time-off requests. They must be available for scheduling on weekdays, excluding blocked dates, and are expected to work full shifts when scheduled.
