Job Description

The Commercial Superintendent is a key role in CW Group, Inc., responsible for on-site coordination of all phases of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and Participate in Inspections: Coordinate third-party and city inspections to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required standards.
  • Jobsite Safety and Management: Oversee and enforce company safety policies, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Construction Knowledge and Processes: Possess a deep understanding of construction processes and jobsite management, ensuring projects are executed safely, on budget, and by design.
  • Schedule Management: Maintain the construction schedule and provide weekly updates to stakeholders.
  • Field Construction Oversight: Direct field construction processes to ensure projects are completed safely, on budget, and by design.
  • Meetings and Communication: Lead subcontractor meetings and participate in pre-construction meetings to ensure clear communication and project understanding.
  • Jobsite Operations: Open and close gates, inspect subcontractor work, and facilitate staging and organization of construction materials.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Oversee the cleanliness of the jobsite daily and ensure a well-organized working environment.
  • Delivery Coordination: Assist in coordinating deliveries and ensure timely receipt of materials.
  • Meetings and Walks: Participate in owner/architect/contractor meetings and jobsite walks to ensure project understanding and progress.
  • SWPPP Compliance: Enforce SWPPP compliance to ensure environmental responsibility.
  • Document Reading and Understanding: Possess the ability to read and understand construction documents, including blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, product data sheets, and contracts.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrate strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and foresee scheduled activities in advance.
  • Computer Skills: Possess PC proficiency and general computer skills, including the ability to issue reports, respond to emails, schedule inspections, and save project photos.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate degree and 2-5 years of commercial construction or multi-family construction experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Local Experience and Contractor Knowledge: Local experience and contractor knowledge preferred.
  • Land Development Experience: Some land development experience preferred.
  • Project Management: Ability to oversee multiple projects at one time.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication, team building, resource management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to resolve field issues with subcontractors, design teams, and/or owners.
  • Computer Skills: MS Office skills required, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions: Routine exposure to jobsite conditions with extreme weather conditions, noise, machinery, tools, equipment, and potentially dangerous situations.
