Financial Operational Audit Intern (Fall Internship)

Position Overview:

Could you be our next Financial/Operational Audit Intern? Globe Life is seeking a qualified Financial/Operational Audit Intern to become part of our team.

In this position, you will provide assurance and consulting services to Globe Life Inc. and its subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include evaluating processes and controls, assessing associated risks, and understanding their impact on organizational objectives.

This is a hybrid role based in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting in the development of audit programs under the guidance of Internal Audit management.
  • Engaging with audit clients and external auditors through meetings and interviews.
  • Participating in discussions with clients and audit team members.
  • Supporting the testing of controls and preparation of workpapers.
  • Contributing to the company's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives.
  • Drafting and documenting audit findings and recommendations, backed by accurate work papers for review by Internal Audit management.
  • Assisting in the preparation and execution of SQL queries.

Qualifications:

  • At least an incoming Junior pursuing a bachelor's degree.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools such as SQL, ACL, or IDEA is advantageous.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capability to assimilate and summarize information effectively.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate information and draw conclusions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL) with the ability to create and format analytical spreadsheets.
  • Research skills and internet proficiency.
  • Independence in judgment and initiative to make informed decisions.
