Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior FinOps Auditor to contribute to our team.

In this capacity, you will provide assurance and advisory services to Globe Life Inc. and its subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include evaluating processes and controls, assessing associated risks, and understanding their impact on organizational objectives.

This is a hybrid role.

Core Duties:

  • Designs, implements, and oversees Financial/Operational audits to ensure the fulfillment of the annual audit strategy.
  • Plans and executes audits in line with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, formally documenting the scope, objectives, and methodologies, including statistical sampling and information technology, utilized in the audit process.
  • Evaluates and analyzes internal system controls for adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and manages financial and operational risks through the successful application of audit recommendations.
  • Assists in the completion of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives.
  • Communicates audit findings to management with constructive suggestions for enhancing operations and controls, fostering growth, reducing expenses, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintains consistent communication regarding potential audit issues to all levels of the audit team in a timely manner.
  • Participates in training and engages in self-directed learning to stay updated on emerging audit concepts, industry best practices, and auditing/accounting standards.
  • Conducts special reviews and audits as requested by management.
  • Identifies risks within processes and recommends controls to mitigate those risks.
  • Performs pre- and post-implementation reviews of system enhancements.
  • Provides consultation on risk management and the development of effective controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related business field.
  • Certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred or in progress.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Internal Audit or Public Accounting.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools, such as SQL, ACL, or IDEA, is advantageous.
  • Strong technical expertise and comprehensive knowledge of audit methodologies and tools.
  • Understanding and adherence to the Standards of the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Institute of Internal Auditors' Code of Ethics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
