Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior FinOps Auditor to contribute to our team.

In this capacity, you will be tasked with delivering assurance and advisory services to Globe Life Inc. and its subsidiaries. This includes evaluating processes and controls, assessing associated risks, and understanding their impact on organizational objectives.

This is a hybrid role based in McKinney, TX (Work from Home on designated days).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Defining, executing, and overseeing Financial/Operational audits to ensure the fulfillment of the annual audit plan.
  • Planning and executing engagements in alignment with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, including formal documentation of scope, objectives, and procedures.
  • Analyzing and evaluating internal system controls for adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Managing FinOps risks through the successful implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Assisting in the completion of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives.
  • Reporting findings to Internal Audit management with constructive recommendations for operational improvements and compliance.
  • Communicating potential audit issues effectively to all levels of the audit area in a timely manner.
  • Participating in training and self-study to stay informed on emerging audit concepts and industry best practices.
  • Conducting special reviews and audits as requested by management.
  • Identifying risks within processes and recommending controls to mitigate those risks.
  • Performing pre and post-implementation reviews of system enhancements.
  • Providing consultation on risk management and effective control development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience in accounting or a related business field.
  • Certification or progress towards certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and/or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Internal Audit or Public Accounting.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools, such as SQL, ACL, or IDEA, is advantageous.
  • Strong technical skills and comprehensive knowledge of audit techniques and tools.
  • Understanding and adherence to the Standards of the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Institute of Internal Auditors Code of Ethics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
