Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Senior Financial Operations Auditor to contribute to our mission. In this capacity, you will deliver assurance and advisory services to Globe Life Inc. and its subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will encompass evaluating processes and controls, assessing associated risks, and understanding their impact on organizational objectives.

This is a hybrid role.

Core Duties:

  • Define, execute, and oversee Financial/Operational audits to ensure the fulfillment of the annual audit strategy.
  • Plan and conduct engagements in line with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, formally documenting the scope, objectives, and methodologies employed within a structured engagement work program.
  • Analyze and evaluate internal system controls for adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Manage Financial/Operational risk through the successful application of audit recommendations.
  • Assist in the execution of the company's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives.
  • Communicate engagement findings to Internal Audit management with constructive suggestions for enhancing operations and controls, fostering growth, reducing costs, and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding potential audit issues to all levels of the audit team in a timely manner.
  • Participate in training and engage in self-directed learning to stay updated on emerging audit concepts, industry best practices, and auditing/accounting standards.
  • Conduct special reviews and audits as requested by management.
  • Identify risks within specific processes and recommend controls to mitigate those risks.
  • Perform pre- and post-implementation reviews of system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Provide consultation on risk management and the development of effective controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience in accounting or a related business field.
  • Certification or progress towards certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and/or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Internal Audit or Public Accounting.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools, such as SQL, ACL, or IDEA, is advantageous.
  • Strong technical skills and comprehensive knowledge of audit methodologies and tools utilized during audits.
  • Understanding and adherence to the Standards of the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, the Institute of Internal Auditors Code of Ethics, and Practice Advisories for Assurance and Consulting Services.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks utilizing problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
