Job Overview

Position: Maintenance Mechanic - All Shifts

As a Maintenance Mechanic at Dutch Farms Inc, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our machinery and equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining production efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose mechanical and operational issues on assigned machinery and implement corrective measures to enhance production and quality.

2. Interpret blueprints and job orders to ascertain product specifications and tooling directives, planning operational sequences accordingly.

3. Operate machinery by engaging feeding, cooling, and lubrication systems through manual controls.

4. Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisory team.

5. Adjust production schedules and perform necessary maintenance when equipment is not in active use.

6. Conduct equipment tests to verify operational integrity, clear jams, and set aside products for quality inspection and rework.

7. Inspect and measure products from assigned machinery to ensure compliance with quality standards, utilizing gauges and recording data accurately.

8. Perform preventive maintenance checks and inspections, documenting findings and taking appropriate actions as needed.

9. Analyze production delays and document causes in daily reports.

10. Maintain operational records, including pressure readings, stroke lengths, feed rates, and speeds.

11. Select and initiate the flow of appropriate coolants and lubricants.

12. Notify the maintenance department or supervisor of recurring equipment issues and quality concerns.

13. Mentor and guide any maintenance trainees assigned to you.

14. Ensure maintenance activities comply with food safety management system regulations.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED preferred.

2. Valid driver's license required.

3. CDL Class A certification.

Additional Requirements:

1. Proven satisfactory work record as determined by the plant training committee.

2. Completion of a three-year formal training program.

3. Proficient in the use of hand tools and trade-specific tools.

4. High level of mental and visual focus required.

5. Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.

6. Willingness to work rotating shifts on a continuous seven-day cycle.
