Key Responsibilities


The LPN plays a vital role in contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care under the guidance of the Inpatient RN.

Encourages adaptive responses from patients and families to ensure optimal care, enhance safety, and maximize satisfaction.

Demonstrates compassionate interactions during patient-nurse engagements. Facilitates patient care coordination and staff collaboration.

Contributes to assessments as defined by practice scope and unit standards.

Addresses the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout their care journey.

Reinforces education for patients and families, focusing on their needs and discharge planning during hospitalization.

Administers direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures in accordance with established policies and protocols.

Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and care plans based on patient responses.


Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary staff, and interdisciplinary team members to proactively address and facilitate patient needs.

Engages in unit-based decision-making to utilize evidence-based practices.

Provides feedback to management for performance evaluations of care delivery team members.

Mentors and precepts new staff and students in a professional and supportive manner as assigned.

Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting. Responsible for fulfilling all job-specific duties and adhering to organizational policies and procedures. The details in this profile are not exhaustive but represent essential elements necessary for successful job performance.

Position Details

GP3 is a 19-bed unit dedicated to providing care for medical patients, including those undergoing surgical procedures.

Our patients present a diverse range of illnesses and often require management of drains, tubes, tracheostomies, and non-invasive respiratory devices such as BiPAP, HFNC, and CPAP.

Schedule is 1.0 FTE (40 hours). Straight Days with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Potential to transition to .9 FTE (36 hours) post-orientation.
