Marketing Manager, Games and VR

Major League Baseball's Games and VR Group was founded in 2014 to bring immersive video game and augmented reality experiences to baseball fans across platforms and genres. As a Marketing Manager, you will drive the execution of marketing initiatives for MLB's owned and licensed products across console, mobile, and XR platforms. You will manage campaigns for a range of MLB products, partnering with external marketing partners and internal counterparts across digital, social, PR, events, and more. This role will lead Go-to-Market initiatives for new games and existing products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing robust, integrated campaigns and a true passion for the gaming and sports industries.
Responsibilities- Develop innovative marketing campaigns and executions for MLB Games and VR products, including brand ID, website, packaging, PR/gameplay assets, and advertising materials.
- Manage relationships with first parties, including asset creation and review, platform marketing, and promotions.
- Work effectively with internal teams, including Social, Communications, Multimedia Operations, and Editorial, to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and initiatives.
- Develop product positioning and messaging for key marketing channels, ensuring consistent and engaging voice.
- Manage product budgets, revenue reporting, and business intelligence in conjunction with internal teams.
- Work with License partners to support publishing/marketing efforts across platforms and channels.
- Work closely with the events team to plan and support live event executions.
- 5+ years of direct experience in video game marketing/publishing.
- Experience with brand management best practices and a suite of tools to successfully bring games to market.
- Strong creative perspective and the ability to develop engaging creative executions in a variety of media formats, including digital, live production, social, and digital formats.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Editorial or copy-writing experience a major plus.
- Ability to synthesize analytics, data reporting, and customer insights into successful marketing strategies.
- Understanding of game and web development, video production, asset creation.
- Excellent business acumen, problem-solving capabilities, and a practical approach to getting things done.
- Understanding of consumer-facing events and ability to support live event production.
- A passion for baseball and video games.
