Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team at Microbest, Inc. a leading manufacturer of precision turned components.

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our rigorous standards for quality and precision. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of quality control processes, and the ability to use various measuring tools and equipment effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspection and Testing:
    • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
    • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, attribute gauges, and layout tools.
    • Determine appropriate methods, fixtures, and gauges based on feature type and tolerance to ensure compliance with specifications.
    • Perform visual inspections to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
    • Conduct functional tests to ensure components meet performance specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Record and document inspection results, including measurements, observations, and test outcomes.
    • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of activities, including inspection duration, method, and result.
    • Report any non-conformances to the Quality Manager and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
    • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
    • Assist in developing and updating quality control procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with production staff to ensure quality standards are understood and met throughout the manufacturing process.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
    • Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in quality control or a related field is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a high-volume CNC Machining manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and tools.
    • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
    • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Acceptable vision to perform visual inspections.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
