Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Leader to join our team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and direction for activities within a specifically-focused program area, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement high-quality programs, services, and activities for drop-in members and visitors ages 6-18.
    • Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety, quality, and appearance of the branch at all times.
    • Collaborate with branch staff to prepare periodic activity reports and receive instruction and feedback to develop skills in program areas.
  • Member Support and Safety
    • Provide a safe and supportive environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
    • Ensure the physical and emotional health and safety of club members at all times.
    • Provide guidance and act as a role model/mentor to assure conduct, safety, and development of all members.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Maintain close professional contact with all staff members, supervisor, and volunteers to communicate on club operations and the needs of members.
    • Participate in weekly branch staff meetings to ensure a productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Experience in working with children.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Ability to operate recent technology and mobile applications.
    • Knowledge of youth development principles and practices.
    • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
    • Ability to deal with the general public.
    • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
    • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
