About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Deputy Director of Recreation and Golf. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the Recreation and Golf department, working closely with the Director of Parks and Recreation to provide vision and leadership to the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead operations of the Recreation and Golf department, including the Community Center, Splash Aquatic Park, RV Park, and Grampsas Gym.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Capital Improvement program for the Recreation & Golf Divisions.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and retain staff throughout the division, ensuring a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Develop and execute management plans and strategies for long- and short-range agency objectives and actions.
  • Represent the Director and department at meetings with other city, state, and federal agencies and at public meetings.
  • Coordinate work programs and projects within the department and among other departments to ensure work is completed effectively, cooperatively, and efficiently.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in parks and recreation, administration, physical education, business, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years progressively responsible management/administration experience in a private or public organization offering recreation facilities and programming.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional preferred.
