Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled General Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at West Virginia University Health System. As a member of our academic department, you will have the opportunity to practice advanced medicine in a highly satisfying environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV, with the possibility of providing services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. You will be part of a collaborative atmosphere that allows you to excel in your field, with access to state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated Division of Research.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent patient care, including minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Contribute to research and academic activities
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree (or foreign educational equivalent)
  • Eligibility for state medical license
  • Completion of general surgery residency program and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program
  • Board certification or board eligibility in thoracic surgery
