Job Description

The Director of Government Relations will execute a comprehensive government relations strategy through engagement with local, regional, and state elected officials and key leaders in Arizona and Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Government Relations Strategy: Develop and implement a government relations strategy to achieve business objectives and protect the company's interests.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with key elected officials, community leaders, and organizations on the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Policy Analysis: Analyze potential legislative and regulatory threats and develop strategic responses to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Communication: Deliver presentations on policy and legislative issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contract Management: Direct and annual contract review and execution with external consultants/lobbyists.
  • Lobbying: Lobby Arizona and Texas state legislators, governors, and their administrations, and local elected officials on matters of importance.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of relevant work experience, including legislative, agency, trade association, corporate, and/or other government relations experience in Arizona or Texas.
  • Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, self-starter with ability to work independently, and healthcare issue background experience preferred.
