Patient Access Representative

Salud Para La Gente is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and external parties through telephone communication.
Key Responsibilities- Provide welcoming and professional communication to patients, peers, and supervisors, adhering to Salud's communication guidelines and expectations.
- Act as the front line to the community via telephone, answering incoming calls and making outgoing calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, using welcoming words and a proper tone of voice, and actively listening to their needs and expectations.
- Route calls to appropriate staff, relay patient requests and messages, and build positive relationships with other staff, providers, and departments to maximize accessibility of care to all patients.
- Answer incoming telephone calls for all Salud locations, review appointment availability, and schedule appointments for all clinic locations and services.
- Assign new patients to appropriate providers and assist in on-going provider panel maintenance.
- Conduct patient recall according to established protocols and enter, review, and make necessary changes to all patient account information in the practice management system.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year's experience in customer service
- Experience with computer entry and excellent alphabetical and numerical skills for filing and payment processing
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Strong communication and basic math skills
